FedEx Integration
To connect Shipber with FedEx, users must provide the API Key and approved certification from FedEx.This article will walk you through the steps on how to obtain the FedEx API key.
Get API Credential
Search Path: FedEx Developer Portal - Log in - My Projects
Click the Link → Developer Portal, and log into the portal
Once logged in, click "My Projects"
Click "Create A Project"
Select the reason for API Access from the available options
Name your project, select APIs (Select All) and click "Next" to the next step
Click "I Understand"
Type your full name, check the agreement and click "I accept" to process
Select the below options (Please see the below description)
Description:
- Country
- Select the country you plan to ship within
- Shipping Services
- Do you plan on shipping using FedEx SmartPost Returns?
- Check if this applies
- Do you plan on shipping using FedEx Freight LTL
- Check if this applies
- Do you plan on shipping using FedEx SmartPost Returns?
Self-define the notification setting and click "Create"
Click "Okay"
Click "Production Key"
Type the Key Name and select shipping account and click "Next" to complete
API Key and Secret Key are shown on the page (Please see the below notes)
Notes:
Please note that the Secret Key is only displayed once, please save your secret key before closing the window
Submit Certification Request
Certification of APIs is a mandatory step before the API key can be utilized. Submit Certification Request is a process where you provide a completed Label Evaluation Cover Sheet and a test label to the FedEx label team for auditing.

Review the first ten pages and complete the Coversheet (Please see the below field description)

Company Contact Name | The contact name wishes to be contacted by |
Email Address | The email address to be contacted by |
Printer Model to be Utilized | Type the Printer Model Ex. ZP450 |
How Many of Each Printer Model | Type in the quantity of the printer |
Label Image Type (ZPL, DPL, EPL, PDF, PNG) | Choose the corresponding image type of the printer Ex. ZP450 will use an image type of ZPL |
Services Requested (Express, Ground, Ground Economy) | Choose the services would like to request. Mostly Express and Ground |
Generate a test label (Please see the below label requirement)
Label Requirement:
Print the labels on label stock and scanned on a flatbed scanner at 600 dpi, software-generated label image files cannot be used for certification.
Gather the information: "Coversheet" & Test Label and send it to label@fedex.com
In Approximately 1-2days, you should receive a decision from FedEx Label Team
Once the certification is approved, the APIs are ready to use, follow the article "Carrier Setup" to integrate FedEx with Shipber
